Job Summary
The Youth Pastor/Director is responsible for the spiritual growth and development of the youth within the church. This includes planning and leading youth programs, fostering relationships with students and their families, and creating a welcoming and Christ-centered environment where young people can grow in their faith.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role is an individual contributor and does not have direct reports. This position will lead and manager volunteer teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Spiritual Leadership
· Teach, mentor, and disciple youth through biblical teaching, group discussions, and personal relationships.
· Plan and lead weekly youth group meetings, Bible studies, and worship services.
· Encourage and facilitate youth participation in church-wide activities and services.
2. Program Development
· Plan and oversee special events such as retreats, mission trips, service projects, and social events.
· Develop and implement a strategic plan for the youth ministry aligned with the church’s vision and values.
· Ensure a safe and engaging environment for all youth programs.
3. Relationship Building
· Build relationships with youth and their families through regular communication, home visits, and presence at youth events and school activities.
· Serve as a positive role model, mentor, and counselor to students.
· Provide pastoral care and support to youth facing life challenges.
4. Volunteer Management
· Recruit, train, and support a team of adult volunteers and youth adult leaders.
· Provide leadership development opportunities for youth leaders.
5. Administration
· Manage the youth ministry budget and resources.
· Maintain accurate records of participation and activities.
· Communicate regularly with church leadership, parents, and students via email, social media, or newsletters.
Qualifications:
· A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the authority of Scripture.
· A clear calling to youth ministry.
· Previous experience working with youth in a church or ministry setting.
· Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
· Ability to relate to and connect with young people and their families.
· Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field (preferred).
· Agreement with the church’s statement of faith and doctrinal beliefs.
Work Schedule:
· Flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
· Attendance at weekly church services and staff meetings is required.

· Loves and prefers the idea of second chair and doesn’t desire a Senior Pastor role.

Physical Requirements
· An employee in this position primarily works in a typical office or sanctuary environment, is generally sedentary, and uses computers, calculators, phones, and other office equipment to draft documents, communicate with church staff, and fulfill other position duties.
· An employee in this position is required to walk, hear, speak, and stand to conduct sermons and minister to the members (both at the main church and at remote locations). Work is conducted in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
· The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, and reason through both complex church business situations and profound personal crises that members may experience is required.
· A flexible schedule is required since this position requires some evening and weekend work due to scheduled events.
Travel Requirements
A valid Texas drivers’ license and acceptable motor vehicle record is required.
